Domestic Energy Update

Freezing prices as winter bites

As the freezing dark nights of winter envelop the UK, and energy consumption spikes to keep homes and workplaces comfortable, the type of news we don’t want to hear as we approach the festive season, is that prices are again set to rise.

But, as is so often the case some energy suppliers are doing exactly this, blaming the rise of wholesale energy costs – but not all!

Britain’s second largest energy supplier SSE has decided to match the freezing conditions by freezing their customer’s household energy bills until at least April 2017. SSE managing Director said: “…we’re giving customer’s peace of mind that no matter what happens we will not increase our standard household energy prices during winter, until at least next April.”

This is fantastic news for customers looking to cut costs, or are facing energy price hikes from other suppliers. To find out how much you could be saving, go to our domestic switching site here – it quickly and easily provides prices from all energy suppliers including SSE, and typical savings range from **£230.39 upwards to the highest saving of £2,763.
